Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the NFL’s most talented, marketable and charismatic players who also happens to be a star for his hometown team, the New York Giants. For such an important player on arguably America’s best-known football franchise, he might not have had much influence over his team in 2018 – but that all changed when they moved from East Rutherford to Los Angeles this offseason.,
Odell Beckham Jr. is a wide receiver for the Los Angles Rams. He has been an important part of their offense, but now that he’s on the team, he’s become even more important to the Super Bowl seeking Los Angles Rams. Read more in detail here: what team is odell beckham on.
With the addition of Odell Beckham Jr., the Los Angeles Rams were supposed to be gearing up for a Super Bowl run. They now seem to be reliant on the former Cleveland Browns wide receiver merely to keep afloat.
The Rams, who are 7-2 and one of the best teams in the NFC, have lost their second-leading receiver. Cooper Kupp is still one of the best wide receivers in the game, and any offense led by Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford will be dangerous, but LA will suddenly need OBJ to step up.
Is he capable of filling the vacuum for the Rams? That is a question that will be addressed very soon.
Robert Woods, a wide receiver with the Los Angeles Rams, has been lost for the season.
Sources say @diannaESPN and me that Rams WR Robert Woods tore his ACL during practice Friday, the same day the club signed WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Ironically, the Rams’ signing of Beckham coincided with a significant blow to the offensive depth chart.
How’s that for synchronicity?
Wide receiver Robert Woods tore his ACL at practice on Friday, two days before the Los Angeles Rams’ Monday Night Football clash with the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He’ll be out for the remainder of the season due to the injury.
According to McVay, it was a bizarre accident. It also creeped up on the Rams since it didn’t seem to be found right away. Woods was able to get up, continue practice, and even speak to the media before the injury was found, according to Schefter. In fact, there was little reason to suspect anything was amiss with the wide receiver until after practice, when testing revealed the isolated ACL injury.
According to ESPN, McVay stated on Saturday, “You’re ill for Robert.” “He’s encapsulated all that’s good about this town.” Such a formidable opponent. Such a tenacious opponent. He’s a fantastic football player and a wonderful guy. It’s really a pity.”

This season, Kupp has gotten all of the focus for the Rams, which is understandable. Stafford’s favorite target by a by shot, with 74 receptions for 1,019 yards and 10 touchdowns to show for it. In all three categories, he leads the league, with 103 targets, 34 more than the Rams’ second-leading receiver.
Unfortunately, this is now LA’s issue.
Woods had been Stafford’s second-favorite receiver this season, and now that he’s gone, he’ll be leaving behind 45 receptions for 556 yards and four touchdowns.
When it comes to receiving, a real No. 1 receiver is only as good as his No. 2, and Woods’ injury leaves a major hole in the Rams’ attack. Of course, McVay is one of the best offensive brains in the game, and second-year player Van Jefferson has been strong this season with 443 yards and three touchdowns, but the Rams will be hard pressed to replace Woods.
“You don’t ever replace a guy like Robert Woods,” McVay conceded, “but you do have to modify and adapt properly.”
In the absence of Woods, LA will rely on Odell Beckham Jr. to step up.

With the news of Woods’ injury, Beckham has gone from a probable minor player to someone who will have to play a key role in LA’s offensive designs. Prior to the injury, OBJ seemed to be certain to compete with Jefferson and tight end Tyler Higbee for any footballs that weren’t thrown to Kupp or Woods.
With Woods out, roughly seven targets per game have become available, and OBJ is the ideal man to take advantage of them.
Remember that Beckham’s major problem in Cleveland was that quarterback Baker Mayfield couldn’t get him the ball. While one key character in the tale believes it was done on purpose, bear in mind that Mayfield has never been renowned for his accuracy. Stafford, on the other hand, is more feast or famine. There are moments when he struggles with interceptions, but there are few quarterbacks in the NFL who can match him when he’s on.
OBJ now has access to a top quarterback and play-caller. All he has to do now is step up, and he seems to understand this. There are targets for him to be had as early as Monday night if he can gain his bearings in LA soon enough.
“I’ll do whatever I can to assist,” Beckham stated. “I’m trying to understand the playbook as quickly as possible, and if [McVay] asks me to do anything, I’m always eager to help.” “I suppose we’ll find out on Monday.”
Beckham is absolutely correct. We’ll have to wait and see. In the end, his ability to catch the ball might determine whether the Rams succeed or fail for the remainder of the 2021 season.
