The Rams traded for the Detroit Lions quarterback, Matthew Stafford, last season. However, before the trade was finalized, he looked at houses in an entirely different city. This is a case study of how athletes are able to find success despite their teams not doing so well.
The matthew stafford trade is a recent event in the NFL. Matthew Stafford was traded from Detroit to Los Angeles Rams. This trade has been one of the most talked about trades in recent history.
Through the first two weeks of the 2021 NFL season, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been on fire. So far, he has them at 2-0, with a number of impressive victories, including a 27-24 triumph against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2.
Stafford, on the other hand, seems to have believed his previous club, the Detroit Lions, were planning to move him to a completely other team over the summer. He went so far as to look at houses in the respective cities.
What was the name of the team? Stafford reportedly believed he had a strong chance of heading to the Colts, the club he had just beaten in Week 2. However, the Rams’ enticing offer prompted him to go to Los Angeles.
The Indianapolis Colts and Matthew Stafford had a common passion.

Stafford’s exit from the Lions seemed unavoidable after 12 seasons and no postseason victories. Throughout the winter, his name appeared in a slew of trade speculations and was linked to a number of teams.
The Colts, on the other hand, were a club that kept popping up. After losing two quarterbacks in three years (Andrew Luck and Philip Rivers), the Colts needed a new quarterback to lead them back to the playoffs.
According to ESPN’s Seth Wickersham, the Colts were even on Stafford’s list of locations he wanted to visit.
However, as you may be aware, the Rams acquired Stafford in a massive trade, and it seems like LA just outbid Indianapolis.
In the trade with the Rams, the Lions acquired two first-round choices, a third-round pick, and quarterback Jared Goff. There have been contradictory reports on what Indy gave Detroit, according to USA Today’s Colts Wire, but the one constant is that they likely never offered more than one first-round selection.
At some time in 2009, Indianapolis must have been close to obtaining the No. 1 overall pick, since he and his wife looked at houses in the city.

Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, spoke on her podcast, The Morning After, after the Rams’ Week 2 victory over the Colts, and she revealed how close the family was to relocating to Indianapolis.
According to the Indy Star, Kelly stated on the Sept. 20 show, “We felt (the Colts) were a possibility throughout the entire trade process.” “We searched on Zillow for homes in that area and began looking.”
“They’re an amazing team,” she said.
So, regardless of how things turned out or what rumors indicate about how much Indianapolis offered for Stafford, he had to believe a move to Indianapolis was a genuine possibility.
Apart from the fact that houses in Indianapolis are expected to be considerably cheaper than those in Los Angeles, everything seems to be going well for the 2014 Pro Bowler.
So far, Matthew Stafford and the Rams are doing well.
We’re just two weeks into the 2021 NFL season, but Stafford’s move seems to be paying off.
Stafford is 2-0 and flourishing so far on a strong Rams club after playing for a team that had three consecutive losing seasons and only reached the playoffs three times since being drafted in 2009. He has 599 yards passing, five touchdowns, and one interception, and he leads the NFL in yards per completion (15.4). Stafford’s completion rate is likewise over 70 percent, at 69.6 percent.
Overall, the 33-year-old has a good opportunity to make a long postseason run this season. The Rams have a fantastic defense led by Aaron Donald, the greatest player in football. Stafford also seems to have struck up a good rapport with wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who has 16 receptions for 271 yards and three touchdowns in two games.
The Colts, on the other hand, have been struggling with a slew of ailments, including numerous injuries to their offensive line. Carson Wentz, the quarterback they eventually acquired, is dealing with two sprained ankles he sustained against the Rams after previously dealing with a foot ailment throughout training camp.
So far, things seem to be going well for Stafford and the Rams. Not so much for the club to whom he nearly signed this summer.
