‘Don’t Try and Come Back’

After a 26-point loss on their home court, the Orlando Magic were looking to come back against the Indiana Pacers. Unfortunately for them, Victor Oladipo made sure that comeback was not going to happen with an incredible block and steal in overtime by stifling defense

Ryder McIlroy has been the most vocal opponent of the movement in light of the large migration of professional players leaving the PGA Tour in favor of LIV Golf. He has criticized the players for their “duplicitous” behavior, taken direct jabs at Greg Norman, the president of LIV Golf, and has consistently supported the PGA Tour.

He is now sending a message to the traitors by stating that if LIV Golf fails, they won’t be invited back.

McIlroy initially had no idea why his contemporaries would pass up the chance to establish a history on the PGA Tour in order to become wealthy fast. Since then, he has learned why some players have accepted the money and left the game, but he would never act in the same way.

According to McIlroy, who recently spoke to the BBC, “It’s the younger players to me that it’s hard to comprehend because I feel like they’re wasting a few years of their competitive career for financial reasons.” Again, if those are your aims and aspirations, then doing that is perfectly acceptable and appropriate; nevertheless, it is not what I would do.

A host of top golfers have now left the PGA and DP World Tours to join the controversial LIV tour. It’s funded by Saudi Arabia, a country with a poor human rights record. Although McIlroy has essentially given up attempting to get the LIV Golf defectors to stay, they cannot change their minds once they have made up their minds.

At this point, he said, “I believe you should go over and perform on a different tour,” he remarked. “It’s okay that you’re kind of sort of essentially leaving all your colleagues behind to go earn more money. But just go over there.

In that way, the PGA Tour is behind McIlroy. The LIV Golf competitors have already been barred from competing on the PGA Circuit, and commissioner Jay Monahan will likely celebrate by sticking to his guns if the parallel tour fails.

The LIV Golf defectors had best hope that their new toy endures, since they won’t have somewhere else to turn if it doesn’t.
