The Colts’ offensive line has been a major issue for the team this season. After making a massive $8.38 million addition to the unit, they have managed to improve their performance and keep Carson Wentz’s worst nightmare from happening–being avoided by an over-the-hill line that can’t block anymore.

The eric fisher injury is a nightmare for Carson Wentz. Eric Fisher was an offensive lineman that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz had been waiting to sign with them for a long time. However, the day before the signing, the Colts signed him and it has turned out to be one of their best moves in recent history.

The Indianapolis Colts and Carson Wentz have had a rocky start to their new marriage.

Despite all of the anticipation surrounding Wentz’s debut in Indianapolis, the Colts’ offensive line failed to deliver against a tough Seattle Seahawks defense at home. Wentz was sacked three times by the Seahawks, who also had ten quarterback hits.

If you’re Wentz, it’s not the most enjoyable way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The Colts, though, are getting some last-minute reinforcements before of their game against Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams.

Carson Wentz will be reunited with his starting left tackle.

Indy gets a big boost: #Colts LT Eric Fisher is likely to start Sunday against the #Rams, according to a source. Fisher’s rehabilitation from a ruptured Achilles occurred quicker than anybody anticipated. To defend Carson Wentz, the Pro Bowler makes his debut.

The Colts didn’t have a solid strategy in place at left tackle heading into this year’s offseason. They lost veteran Anthony Castonzo to retirement and did not use their first-round selection to replace him. As the offseason drew to a conclusion, the Colts took a chance and signed former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Eric Fisher to a one-year, $8.38 million deal.

The only issue? Fisher’s 2020 season was cut short due to an Achilles tendon tear. The Colts and Wentz were uncertain when their new left tackle would join them on the field since this ailment usually holds players out for a full calendar year.

Against Seattle, Wentz felt the consequences of playing behind a backup LT; coming up against Donald will further exacerbate the situation. Fisher, amazingly, is expected to play against the Rams, according to reports.

LT with the Indianapolis Colts Eric Fisher will not be at full strength.

While having any version of Fisher on the field is wonderful news for the Colts, it’s important to note that he won’t be at full strength.

Fisher will “no way” be 100 percent on Sunday, according to David J. Chao (the “Pro Football Doc” on Twitter). Achilles injuries, as previously mentioned, are painful and require a year to recover. Fisher will be back in around seven months.

Fisher has been practicing and doing individual work over the last several weeks and has been cleared to play against the Rams by the Colts’ doctors. The Rams’ approach against the Colts’ possibly crippled left tackle, on the other hand, will be fascinating to watch.

By putting pressure on Wentz, Seattle was able to significantly hamper the Indianapolis attack. It’s safe to anticipate that LA will pursue a similar approach.

The Colts and Carson Wentz are still looking for their first victory together.

Despite the offensive line’s difficulties, Wentz performed well in Week 1. He completed the game with 251 yards passing, two touchdowns, and a passer rating of above 100. It wasn’t enough, however, to overcome the Colts’ injury problems.

The Colts were missing regular starters T.Y. Hilton and Xavier Rhodes last weekend, in addition to Fisher. It’s also worth noting that right tackle Braden Smith was listed on the injury report after the team’s first defeat and is likely to miss Sunday’s game against the Rams.

Fisher’s return is obviously beneficial, but Wentz and the Colts still have an uphill struggle against a strong Rams squad.
